2013 - Life in Christ
Welcome to Kristinestad 24-27.6 2013!
The theme of this year’s Corpus Christi conference is “LIFE in Christ”. What do you think when you hear the word “life”? There is an unlimited amount of responses to this question. Some of us think about school, work, spare time activities, family members, friends, newborn children or perhaps about spring. This is why “life” as a word might seem too big and too vague for a theme of a conference.
But John, the evangelist, writes in his gospel: “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind” (John 1). The Bible testifies that in CHRIST there is LIFE, in the true meaning of the word. This year we will be talking about how we become a part of the LIFE that is in Christ, who IS the life (Joh. 11:25). In other words: how does Christ who is LIFE affect a person’s LIFE? And what does it mean?
Welcome to participate in Life in Christ,
LIFE IN CHRIST
REV. KURT REINHARDT, CANADA
Our mortal lives on earth calls us to convictions, to decisions, to actions! And yet, life becomes fundamentally different when given by Christ – an eternal life to be lived out in a dying world. In what way gives the life in Christ meaning to our ordinary lives?
1. LIFE AS GOD’S IMAGE
REV. ESKO MURTO, IDA & JAAKKO HEIKKILÄ
What does it mean to be human in this world, to be man and woman, to be created for relations (for some to have family and raise children), to simply be created in the image of God? Part 3 of the series will divide the attendants into groups for men and women.
2. LIFE IN GOD’S WORLD
REV. ANDREAS KARLGREN
What does it mean to live a life as a human and as a Christian in the world, in society, at work, in school and the like? What are our duties in relation to other people, to governments? How do we understand the complexity of reality in this world with God’s eyes?
3. LIFE IN GOD’S CHURCH
REV. FREDRIK SIDENVALL
One is not Christian privately, but always in fellowship with others. What is the Church and what does it mean to go to Church, to be Church, to live out the life as Church?
4. LIFE AS A SERVANT OF CHRIST
(NETWORK OF YOUNG LUTHERAN THEOLOGIANS) REV. JARI KEKÄLE, REV. SEBASTIAN GRÜNBAUM, JACOB CORZINE
This session is intended for students of theology, younger theologians and pastors.
